The Department of Physics and Astronomy/SAS at Rutgers University plans to hire a Postdoctoral Associate funded by Gordon and Betty Moore Foundation in the field of experimental condensed matter physics. This postdoctoral position is funded thought the Moore Foundations Emergent Phenomena in Quantum Systems (EpiQS) initiative. The position's anticipated duration is for two years with a possible extension to third year upon mutual agreement.
Candidates should have a Ph.D. in condensed matter physics or material science by the start date of the position (Jan. 1, 2017) and demonstrate excellence in research and strong communication skills. The successful candidate is expected to work closely with Rutgers experiment and theory faculty engaged in strongly correlated quantum matter. This position is geared towards synthesis of strongly correlated artificial quantum materials by MBE and PLD, characterization by advanced photoelectron spectroscopies including XAS, XPS, RIXS etc. and close familiarity with transport and magnetic measurements.
Applicants are requested to provide a CV, cover letter, and a minimum of two letters of recommendation. Please forward your materials to Stefanie Miller at email@example.com.
